Music That Finds You

Have you ever been sitting around, listening to your favorite band's cd; only to realize that this is the 5th time today that you've play that disc.

Now, I know that most of us have more than one band/artist that we listen to, but we still get tired of the music that we own. While it's true that we can go out and just buy a new album, the question that needs to be answers is, "What/Who's album do you buy?" This is where Pandora comes in.

Pandora is an internet-based radio station, but unlike other station you have control over what kind of music you listen too and even if you want to skip some song that come up. All you have to do is make a station with an artist or song that you like and Pandora will start playing songs that share many of the same qualities as your favorite one. Then as songs play, you can say whether or not you liked it, thus giving your station more information about what kind of music you like. Giving a song a thumbs-up will allow it to be played more often and it will be used in finding more songs to play; while on the other hand giving a song a thumbs-down will ensure that it will not be played on your station again. So the more you rate the further your musical web will extend, and if you find something you really like you might even consider going out and getting that album for yourself since you know you like the music.

Luckly, Pandora allow for users to have more that one station (up to 100, in fact). So that you can listen to different stations depending on: your mood, time of day, who's nearby or whatever other reason you can think of. So go on listen to some music, who knows you might even get a new song stuck in your head.
